Renowned for hypnotic performances, devotedly original songs and a seabed deep voice, Dane Tucquet has developed into one of the country’s most distinctive underground songwriters.
After releasing an Australian Music Prize nominated debut album, Bury Me In My Headphones and touring with a who’s who of indie-folk, including Low, Martha Wainwright and Joan As Policewoman, Tucquet seemingly disappeared from view.
On the verge of releasing his second album, the dreamy Let Everyone Feel Your Love, Tucquet resurfaces with his submarine folk and ghost blues: unorthodox compositions utilising a range of open string tunings and dream like lyrical imagery imbued with the mystery of the ocean.
” Dane’s own unique journey has promises of an eventual destination in the not too distant future. Keep an eye on this one.”
“One of the country’s most unique songwriters, Tucquet’s music is difficult to define, the best description being ‘bent noir-folk’, with comparisons to Tom Waits.”
