The group was formed by singer-songwriter Cam Ewart, who cut his teeth sharing dusty stages with The Drones, Don Walker, Wagons, Bob Log III & many more. He has also been invited to share the stage with Tim Rogers, Charles Jenkins & other Australian singer/songwriter icons.
The 5-piece band melds both beautiful & barroom vocal harmonies over acoustic guitars, bass, piano, violin, harmonica & mandolin to create a sound that goes from upbeat boot stompers to bar room ballads. The group includes friends Cam has performed with for over 15 years.
Ghost Towns of the Midwest launched their debut EP “Field Recordings” in 2014, to a humbling response from both RRRFM & PBSFM, in particular receiving weekly spins from ex station manager “The Ghost” himself, Stephen Walker, aswell as enjoying glowing reviews & national plays on Triple J’s “Roots n All” program.
Support by Rich Davies and the Low Road
Melbourne based Scottish-expat, singer-songwriter; on the contemporary side of folk and americana.
Stepping away from the dirty rock for which he is known, Rich Davies has emerged from the studio with an intimate, very genuine record. Its delicate harmony amplifies his intense, roots- inspired narratives. Rich’s Scottish background is hauntingly woven into his acoustic, folk story-songs with unmistakeable passion. Performed with both the vigour and earnestness of an experienced showman, and the heart-on-sleeve vulnerability of a true songwriter.
