Released in June 2015 to a wave of critical acclaim, James Thomson’s second album Cold Moon thrilled multiple national publications and has been heralded as one of the finest Americana albums of recent years.
Following the success of their Spring 2015 tour, James Thomson is joined by The Strange Pilgrims; with Craig Rattray on bass, Jason Lowe on steel/lead guitar (at selected shows) and Tim Burns (ex-Perry Keyes) on drums. The Highway Nights tour will take the band to new cities and towns along the East coast from Brisbane to Melbourne. Come join us at the Yarra to see one of the finest purveyors of country blues going around.
Joining Thomson on the night will be Melbourne recluse Tim Crossey, who has mined the maze of his lurid mind to come up with a startling collection of deftly written songs – and pulled them together into an album of eerily tuneful country music. He’ll be flying solo on the night to let his meanderings loose in their sparest and most intimate form. Live and free from 8.30pm
